SEAN PAUL LAPASANDA · THE PERSON BEHIND THE CODE

From fast-paced environments to scalable software architecture.

I'm a full-stack software engineer based in Davao City, Philippines. My background isn't typical — alongside studying Information Technology at STI College Davao, I spent four years (2022–2026) on the floor as a McDonald’s Service Crew member (awarded Best in Assembler in our store-level competition).

Managing intense rush hours alongside my team and following strict standard operating procedures taught me something essential: reliability isn't accidental. It requires clear checklists, calm composure under stress, and accountability.

Today, I apply that same discipline to engineering: structuring resilient database schemas, enforcing strict TypeScript contracts, and leveraging AI-agentic workflows to build, iterate, and ship full-stack web and mobile systems at 5x velocity without cutting corners on craft.

Fast-Paced Shifts at McDonald's

Working on the kitchen floor from 2022 to 2026 taught me that under high-volume pressure, chaos is the default unless systems are standardized. Earning 'Best in Assembler' proved that speed comes from mastering the fundamentals and following clear checklists.

💡 Reliability comes from checklists and calm composure under load.

Leading the eMediCard Thesis Defense

As group leader for our STI Davao capstone project, I led the architecture of a digitized health card system for the Davao City Health Office. We paired React Native and Expo with Convex NoSQL, integrated QR code verification, and successfully defended our thesis.

💡 Strong architecture turns complex domain logic into simple user workflows.

Shipping Our First Production System

During our software internship at F.M. Morata Customs Brokerage & Law Firm, I led development alongside my groupmates to ship our team's first live production platform. Working on-site with licensed customs brokers, I architected the backend REST APIs with Laravel and guided our team to deploy our shipment tracking system directly into daily brokerage operations.

💡 Nothing teaches software faster than seeing real people rely on what your team built.

STI College Davao BSIT Graduation

Earning my BS in Information Technology at STI College Davao. Four years of data structures, network configuration, database architecture, and late-night debugging converted raw curiosity into disciplined, modern engineering craftsmanship.

💡 The degree is a foundation; the craft is a lifelong commitment.
how i think & build

Engineering Principles 🛠️

The core tenets that guide every architecture decision, API contract, and line of code I ship.

01

Checklists & Edge Cases

Defensive Design & Resilience

Fast-paced shifts taught me that if a system can fail under load, it will. I structure normalized relational models, define strict TypeScript contracts, and validate inputs defensively so user workflows remain rock-solid.

02

High-Level Architecture

AI-Agentic Velocity

I don't waste hours writing boilerplate syntax by hand. I architect detailed technical specifications, orchestrate autonomous AI agents, and verify correctness with automated suites — building end-to-end applications at extraordinary speed.

03

Clean Maintainability

Domain-Driven Design & SOLID

I build with a practicality-first philosophy. Codebases must be maintainable for teammates. By keeping domains segregated and adhering to SOLID principles, systems scale smoothly without collapsing into technical debt.

Life Outside the Code ☕

When I'm not architecting systems or writing code, you'll usually find me with a warm cup of coffee, playing games, or exploring new media.

Coffee & Focus

A great cup of coffee before deep architectural work. Brewing coffee and stepping away from the screen is my favorite problem-solving reset.

Downtime & Gaming

Mobile Gaming

Playing Mobile Legends for quick tactical matches. I also used to play Genshin Impact until stepping away around 4 years ago after reaching Adventure Rank (AR) 55.

Storytelling & Anime

Anime & Manga

Watching anime since childhood — started with a Tagalog-dubbed Fushigi Yuugi CD my mom bought around 2014. Active on MyAnimeList since 2019, watching pretty much any genre as long as the story hooks me.
